A COMPREHENSIVE ANALYSIS OF THE ORAL COMPONENT OF THE SECONDARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION

The primary objective of the educational process is to equip learners with the necessary skills to function effectively and confidently in a foreign language environment. For language learners, developing the ability to speak the language with sufficient proficiency is crucial across various aspects of life, including education, sports, culture, technology, and more. This importance is also reflected in the structure and content of the secondary school leaving examination. This paper focuses on analysing the oral component of the secondary school leaving examination at the B1 level. It provides an overview of the examination´s structure and, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, discusses the language proficiency standards required for B1 level. Additionally, it examines tasks and exercises in English coursebooks that target the oral component of the examination.
