INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES IN TEACHING PRONUNCIATION

Abstract

Teaching and practicing correct pronunciation are often overlooked in English language lessons. The importance of accurate pronunciation is undeniable; it is a core linguistic competences alongside grammatical and lexical competences. Successful communication in English relies fundamentally on clear pronunciation, emphasizing the need to teach pronunciation right from the beginning of English language education. While all students of English language teaching undertake a course of phonetics and phonology, methodological training is often lacking in teacher training programs. Consequently, English language teachers might feel uncertain about how to teach pronunciation in an engaging and effective manner. This workshop provides some captivating and effective activities for practicing correct pronunciation among learners.
